What you get with the National Trust Free Pass 2024
The pass allows for up to two adults and three children, or perhaps one adult and four children to go on the pass. There are some rules – like one per household, and that you’ll need to pay for parking if there is a parking tariff at that site. But you could save up to £35 with the pass! And get a day out. Brilliant.
Which Cornwall sites can you see for free with the National Trust 2024 Free Pass?
There is only ONE exclusion of National Trust sites in Cornwall that you CANNOT visit with the free pass and that’s one of our favourite castles (St Michael’s Mount). Still, save the money on other sites and pass to visit the Mount right?
However, it still means that you can get to visit some great sites. And these include
- Tintagel Post Office (near the glorious Tintagel Castle)
- Trelissick Gardens (one of my FAVOURITE gardens in Cornwall)
- Lanhydrock House (another glorious place to visit)
- Godolphin House and Garden
- Glendurgan Garden
- Or perhaps the Bottalack Mines near St Just in Penwith
The ONLY Cornwall exclusion from this free access pass is
- St Michael’s Mount
Where else can you go with the National Trust Free Pass?
This free pass from the National Trust is about more than just Cornwall – so don’t limit yourself. The offer is open to many more places – why not take a look at where else you can go here?

To enter the site that you’ve chosen you’ll need to have a copy of your email and the pass that you go on email from the National Trust. Digital is ok, but remember many of the National Trust sites have very poor to zero mobile coverage – so you’ll want to download an offline copy of your tickets!!
Where else should you go in Cornwall this Autumn?
If you’re looking for inspiration on where else to go in Autumn down here in Cornwall, then I’ve got some great ideas for you.
- Tuck yourself away in Bodmin Jail for the day (and night). Prebook your visit to the jail here, and then book an overnight too! Yes, you can stay in one of the old cells. Personally, I’d opt for the family room, but you go for that cell…
- When you’re exploring the Tintagel Post Office (for free with your National Trust Pass) head on to the castle as well. It is truly glorious at this time of year. And is one of our top castles to visit in Cornwall.
- You’ve made it this far down the country, go the extra mile and get to Land’s End. My guide on what to do there is here.
- Land’s End is kind of a rite of passage down here, but the truly glorious – feels like the end of the world is Cape Cornwall, get yourself a cosy cottage in St Just and come here for the day. Yes, you can walk from St Just, and you’ll want to explore other places around too.
Want more inspiration? Here you go.
Final Words on the National Trust Free Pass in Cornwall
Cornwall is jammed full of National Trust properties, I can’t think of a better place to come and use your free pass. There are gardens galore, old buildings, and delightful beaches. And this time of year is perfect to come and visit. There are fewer tourists around, parking will be a heck of a lot easier and you’ll get more time to explore. So why not stay on a little longer?
