1. Stay in Pentillie Castle, South Cornwall

The magical Pentillie Castle (aka Castle by the Water) in South Cornwall is an elegant castle to stay at in Cornwall and dates back to 1698.  You’ll definitely feel like a King or a Queen staying here in sumptuous luxury.   Let’s start with the 55 acres of beautiful gardens that are yours to explore. Walk through the lime avenue or head on a long hike up to the stunning orchards. Then perhaps enjoy a game of croquet or bowls, before watching the River Tamar while relaxing on one of two terraces. Inside, there are two open fires, a cosy drawing room and a glorious morning room.  Then, the kitchen is stunning, equipped with both an AGA and a gas range and hob, plus two dishwashers, a microwave and an American-style fridge/freezer with an ice dispenser.

Pentillie Castle also has a games room, with table football, a dartboard and a pool table as well as the usual TV and comfortable seating. With 11 bedrooms – configurable in a variety of ways, but with at least one four-poster bed, you’ll be spoilt for choice as to where to sleep.  And there’s lots of room for everyone too.

There is abundant parking available on the property, with a total of 20 car spots in front of the Castle, at the end of an unsurpassable driveway through acres of farmland. 3. Stay at the Camelot Castle Hotel

4. Stay at Doyden Castle, Port Quin

The Doyden Castle is a little fortress at the edge of the cliffs on the Port Quin headland and you’ll be the queen or king of the Castle in this quirky holiday home. This Castle in Cornwall is now a one-bedroom holiday home with an open fireplace and arched Gothic windows.  The stone castle was built in 1830 and has been used more recently to film scenes for the TV show Doc Martin.  It was also used in the 1975 BBC drama, Poldark.

Doyden Castle is managed by the National Trust in Cornwall and you can rent this castle in Cornwall for your holidays here.  There’s no mobile phone signal here, and you’ll be able to get WiFi at the nearby Doyden House.
